Russo Snags Second Pilgrim Lacrosse League Weekly Honor

Springfield, Mass. - For the second time in three weeks, Babson College's Phil Russo was honored as the Pilgrim Lacrosse League Player of the Week.

The first-year has been dominant at the face-off "x" for the Beavers as he helped guide Babson to a pair of wins last week. Russo totaled one goal, one assist, 26 groundballs, and one caused turnover while winning 37 of 47 faceoffs.

On Wednesday, he won 20 of 24 faceoffs while recording one goal, one assist, and 15 groundballs in a 19-2 victory over UMass-Boston. Then on Saturday, he added 11 groundballs and one CT while winning 17 of 23 faceoffs in a 14-6 win over Pilgrim League for MIT. For the season, Russo now has six goals, one assist, 89 groundballs, and a .660 win percentage on faceoffs (163-247) in 12 games.
