Babson's Schmidt Named Pilgrim Player of the Week

Springfield, Mass. - March 5, 2012 - Babson College's Jamie Schmidt was named the Pilgrim Lacrosse League's Player of the Week after guiding the Beavers to a 2-0 start to the season.

The junior midfielder netted six goals in the team's first two contests, leading Babson to its strongest start in recent memory. On February 25, he scored the Beavers' fourth and fifth goals in a huge 8-6 victory over 20th-ranked Skidmore.

Then one week later, he tallied four goals to lead Babson to a 16-11 road victory over Hartwick - including three second-half scores that helped deny the Hawk's furious comeback bid.

Babson is currently receiving votes in the latest United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) National Coaches Poll.
