McNamara Nabs Second-Straight Pilgrim Player of the Week Honor
Springfield, Mass. - Wheaton College's Billy McNamara has been named the Pilgrim Lacrosse League Player for the second-consecutive week and third time this season after leading the Lyons to a 15-9 win over Babson on Saturday.
In Wheaton's only contest of the week, McNamara paced the Lyon attack with four goals and three assists in his team's 15-9 home victory.
McNamara scored four times during a 7-0 run that spanned the second and third quarters before assisting the Blue and White's initial two tallies of the fourth.
With conference play well under way, only Springfield and Wheaton have unblemished conference records. Springfield owns a 3-0 mark, while the Lyons are 2-0 so far in 2010 in league play. The two will square off in a rematch of the last two conference tournament championships on Saturday afternoon at Springfield.
