Heney Selected as Pilgrim Player of the Week

Springfield, Mass. - Senior Joe Heney was selected as the Pilgrim Lacrosse League Player of the Week after guiding Springfield to its' third-consecutive league title over the weekend. In the two tournament games, Heney combined for five goals and three assists to lead the Pride offense.

In the 14-5 semifinal victory over MIT, Heney dished out of pair of assists in first quarter.  In the championship game, Heney erupted for six points off five goals and an assist to lead the Pride past Wheaton, 12-7, and clinch a berth in the NCAA Tournament.

Springfield will now move on to the NCAA Tournament where it will host a first round game against Widener on Wednesday afternoon at 4:00 pm.
