Whalen Selected as Pilgrim Player of the Week

Springfield, Mass. - Babson goalie James Whalen was selected as the Pilgrim Lacrosse League Player of the Week after leading the Beavers to a pair of victories.

Whalen anchored a pair of dominating defensive efforts as Babson won back-to-back games against Mount Ida and Plymouth State.

On Tuesday, he stopped 14 shots while allowing only five goals in a 7-6 victory over Mount Ida. The sophomore goalie then made 10 saves on 17 shots on net to go along with two ground balls and a caused turnover in Babson's 10-7 win over Plymouth State on Thursday.

For the week, Whalen went 2-0 with a 6.01 goals against average and a .667 save percentage.
