Eaton Earns Player of the Week Honors
Springfield, Mass. - March 7, 2011 - Senior Mark Eaton has been selected as the Pilgrim Lacrosse League Player of the Week after a very strong start to the season for the men's lacrosse team.
The reigning Pilgrim Lacrosse League Player of the Year has been a catalyst for Springfield in its' 2-2 start to begin the 2011 season. Eaton was won 59.7% of his draws from the face-off "X", going 46-77, to go along with 28 ground balls. Running on Springfield's second midfield line, the Westford, Mass. native has added a goal and five assists as well.
Eaton kicked off the season winning 14-of-21 attempts at the "X" and picked up seven ground balls while dishing three assists in the Pride's 12-6 win at Gordon. He followed that with a masterful performance in Springfield's 11-8 win over No. 17 Nazareth, wining 12-of-20 face-offs and scooping up seven ground balls.
In a 9-6 loss at Endicott, Eaton picked up a season-best nine ground balls and scored his first goal of the season, before dishing two assists and winning 11-of-19 face-offs in a loss to 20th-ranked Stevens.
