Piemont Earns Pilgrim Player of The Week
Springfield, Mass. - MIT's Dan Piemont was selected as the Pilgrim Lacrosse League Player of the Week after leading the Engineers to a 2-0 week and locking up the fourth seed in the upcoming conference tournament.
In a 2-0 week for MIT, Piemont posted seven goals, including a pair of game-winners and man-up strikes. He had four goals in an 8-7 win against Norwich, as the decisive tally came with three seconds remaining in overtime. Piemont went on to record a hat-trick in a 10-7 victory over Clark, which helped the Engineers claim the fourth seed in the upcoming Pilgrim League Tournament.
Starting on Wednesday afternoon, the Pilgrim Lacrosse League Tournament will commence with Springfield, Wheaton, Babson, and MIT all vying for the automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament. No. 2 Wheaton will host No. 3 Babson at 4:00 pm before No. 1 Springfield will host No. 4 MIT at 7:00 pm.
